Less than a week left to enjoy Belfast Christmas Market
Festive opening hours for Belfast Christmas Market, St George’s Market and Belfast Street Food Market
This year's Belfast Christmas Market at City Hall remains open until Thursday December 22.
Culinary delights at the annual festive favourite include giant Bratwurst sold from a traditional Schwenkgrille, Spanish paella and exotic meats such as alligator and wild boar. There is also one of Europe’s finest creperies and stalls selling Belgian chocolates, French tarts, and Italian nougat.
There are over 100 stalls this year, compared to just 30 stalls when the market first opened in 2004.
An additional 20 stalls in novelty chalets at the entrance gates to City Hall feature local food and craft producers to celebrate Northern Ireland’s Year of Food and Drink 2016.
Christmas shoppers seeking last minute gift ideas can find inspiration in a large range of wonderful crafts and fine goods.
There's also live music at Lavery's traditional Irish Bar and a Continental Bar.
Children can meet Santa in his Narnia themed grotto and follow a fairy trail around the market.
The market is open:
Monday - Wednesday: 10am - 8pm
Thursday - Saturday: 10am - 10pm (finishes at 8pm on December 22)
Sunday: 1pm - 6pm.
Santa’s Grotto is open:
Monday - Wednesday: 11am - 6pm
Thursday - Friday: 11am - 7pm
Saturday: 11am - 6pm; Sunday: 1pm - 6pm
This year Santa is supporting the Children’s Cancer Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children.
St George’s Market
Meanwhile at Ireland’s oldest covered market, top local musicians provide great entertainment, while extended hours mean visitors have even more time to enjoy Northern Ireland’s finest artisan foods and a stunning choice of unique gifts.
Now recognised as one of the finest food markets in the UK, St George’s has all kinds of delicious temptations to entice foodies, from organic meats to one of Ireland’s biggest ranges of cheeses.
