Turnkey has been taken to a whole new level with the announcement of the largest new housing scheme to be built in Northern Ireland in over a decade.
Buying one of the 1,000 new properties in Rivenwood in Newtownards will give you the chance to become your own interior designer.
Fraser Homes will finish every inch of the interior to your specifications, allowing you to customise your own rooms.
In what is a major boost of confidence for the housing market, the first phase of Rivenwood is to be launched on May 5 creating a whole new community on a 107 acre site on the eastern side of Newtownards between the Movilla and Donagahdee roads.
The development represents a massive £200m investment by Fraser Homes, one of Northern Ireland's most recognised and longest established building firms.
There will be a wide range of house types on offer to suit a variety of people including first time buyers, families, retired people and downsizers in an attempt to create a warm community environment. These include bungalows, semi-detached and detached homes.
Building work will begin this summer on the first 100 properties which will be released next month with the first houses ready to move in to by the end of this year and early next year. Show houses will be ready to view by late summer/early autumn.
Also a first for Northern Ireland is the architectural concept of Rivenwood which has a fresh 'New England' style inside and out. The striking exteriors will feature the distinctive New England clapboard cladding while inside will have the clean lines of shaker styling.
When it comes to those all important interior finishes it will be up to you to personalise your own home by choosing your flooring, tiling and kitchen units helping to make every home unique.
For your kitchen you will have a choice of doors, worktop colours, handles, tiles and flooring.
Every kitchen comes with an integrated gas hob and electric oven, extractor unit, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
Bathrooms will be fitted out with the latest designer sanitary ware with chrome fittings and there will be thermostatically controlled showers and chrome heated towel rails in both bathrooms and the en suites. Again you choose how the shower enclosures are tiled.
Modern technology will also be a standard feature in each new home with superfast fibre optic broadband and FTTP with speeds of up to 330mbps, cabling for digital and Sky TV and zoned security alarms. Such is the attention to detail that some rooms will feature lovely grooved or exposed beams to the ceilings and there will be multi fuel stoves in the main lounge.
Throughout the development common areas will also be landscaped to enhance what the drawings already reveal to be a beautiful new environment to bring up your children or spend your retirement years.
Phase one will see four different home types on offer. You will be able to choose from a two-bed semi bungalow, a three-bed semi-detached or three and four-bed detached.
Future plans to help create the perfect setting for families looking to become part of a close knit community include providing retail, community and healthcare facilities within the development. There is even a proposed location for a primary school.
Rivenwood will also provide part of a new road which is planned to ultimately link the Portaferry Road with the Bangor Road.
