Dara Geddis and Jamie Graham, from Ballynahinch, are celebrating the birth of their first child, Amelia Jorgia Graham.

The beautiful baby girl weighed 7lbs 8oz when she was born at 11.10am on June 24 at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald

Dara (21) praised the care she received from hospital staff.

"I got a lovely midwife, around my age," she said. "She was good craic, and everyone made us feel very at home."

Dara and Jamie, also 21, had a feeling their child would be a boy, so a daughter was "a wee surprise".

"It was completing overwhelming seeing her for the first time," Dara added. "I bawled my eyes out with happiness.

"Every time I look at her I feel complete love. I am so proud she's mine, she's so beautiful.

"I can't believe she's home with us and is ours, she's so content."

Jamie is a very hands-on father and the young couple are both enjoying the joy and challenge of being parents for the first time.

"It's great being parents, we've taken to it really well," Dara said.

"Jamie is so on-the-ball, he has the bottles done before I'm even thinking of the next feed."

Since Amelia was born visitors have been arriving to see the newest addition to their family "all day, every day".

"We're both from big families," Dara added. "And so many friends have come to see us, too.

"There have been so many presents, she's spoilt rotten already."
