Larne couple Sonia Rossborough and Neil Steward are celebrating the birth of their first child together.
Little Calen Steward weighed 6lb 12oz when he was born at Antrim Area Hospital on February 27, at 7.44am.
Calen is the first child for secondary school teacher Sonia (40) and the third son for Neil (41), a gardener with Larne Borough Council.
Sonia, who splits her time between London and Larne, said she had a really good pregnancy and while it was a little scary having Calen by emergency caesarean section, he’s healthy and thriving. “We both felt overcome with happiness when Calen was born,” Sonia said.
“He’s amazing and I think he looks a lot like Neil. He’s got a very determined nature like his father, as well.”
Sonia was full of praise for the staff at Antrim Area Hospital and she also wants to thank family and friends who have been so generous and supportive.
“The nurses and everyone else were amazing,” Sonia added.
Both Sonia and Neil are enjoying parenthood and have enjoyed taking Calen out and about in between feeds and sleeping.
Neil said he can’t wait to bring Calen to play in Carnfunnock Country Park when he gets a little older.
