Ruth and Richard Faulkner are celebrating the birth of their son Harry, the newest addition to their young family.

The placement officer and diesel mechanic from Bangor were already proud parents to 18-month-old Hannah when little Harry was born at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald, on April 24 at 10.47pm.

The beautiful baby boy weighed 6lbs 10oz on his arrival into the world.

Ruth recalled the overwhelming moment she first held her son.

"I was exhausted, emotional and over the Moon to see him," she said.

"It's nice to have a girl and a boy. Everyone keeps saying about us having a gentleman's family.

"Richard is delighted, too. He's already buying model tractors and planning fishing trips."

Harry's sister is getting used to her little brother being in the family home.

"She's throwing a few tantrums, but is happy enough," Ruth added.

"She's a good-natured child and is getting on very well with her baby brother."

The support the Faulkners have received from both sides of the family has been wonderful.

"It really does help," Ruth said. "Especially in the early days, when you're not getting much sleep.

"People have been so kind and generous, getting little gifts for Hannah, too.

"We are very blessed. Everyone has been so lovely to us."
