Just born: Sam Douglas
Parents Julie and Graeme Douglas were celebrating the birth of their third son Sam last week.
The couple from Ballynahinch, Co Down, welcomed the 10lb 3oz baby into the world on September 6 at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald.
Julie, who works for BT, had to have an emergency Caesarian section after the baby was in breech during the labour.
“It was a bit frantic at first but in the end everything went very smoothly,” Julie said.
“The staff were really good. I had my other two in Lagan Valley, which is a midwife-led unit. If I’d been there this time, I would probably have been rushed here for an emergency C-section, so it worked out well.”
Julie’s other two sons, who are eight and five years-old, were being collected from school to see their new baby brother.
Asked if she would have preferred a little girl this time, Julie replied: “Not at all, I don’t mind having all boys.
“I have five nieces altogether so that makes up for not having a daughter.” And proud grandparents, Moira and David Teggarty, wouldn’t swap little Sam for the world.
“He’s just gorgeous,” admitted Moira.
