Andrew McGuigan and Mary Creaney are celebrating the birth of their second son.
The Belfast couple welcomed little Sonny McGuigan into the world on January 7 at 6.41pm.
The healthy tot weighed 8lbs 11oz when he was born at the Lagan Valley Hospital’s midwife-led unit.
His arrival means the couple now have two boys, as they are |already proud parents of 21-month-old Bobby.
“Having Sonny was a really lovely experience,” Mary said. “The hospital staff were brilliant.
“Everything was just very relaxed and they helped us just go with the flow. I was over the Moon when Sonny was born. I couldn't believe it. I have five brothers, so I'm used to having boys about.”
Andrew (24) and Mary (23) said Bobby was still too young to understand everything that is going on, but he seems to be enjoying having a little brother in the house.
“Bobby is taking it all in his stride,” Mary added. “He knows the baby needs us all.
“He has been running about and getting bottles for him. As long as he's running about he's happy.”
Mary said their son's arrival has ensured a wonderful start to 2013 and that she and Andrew are looking forward to watching their two boys thrive in the months ahead.
“It's a lovely way to start the year.
“We have had so many visitors since we've been home.
“Everybody has been brilliant.”
