Little Ezra had to have heart surgery when he was just seven-days-old, so the Quinns were delighted there were no complications following their second son’s birth. Master Ty Sullivan Thomas Quinn, to give him his full title, was born at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald, on December 3 at 9.59pm.
The beautiful little boy weighed 8lb 3.5oz and measured 54cms.
He got the middle name Thomas as it is also Kathryn’s father’s name.
“Ty was two weeks late, so we were glad to see him,” Kathryn said. “I was only in labour for 70 minutes, so he was worth the wait.
“I was delighted to see him. It is the best feeling in the world.
“I am just over the moon. He is brilliant.”
Proud dad, Aaron, said: “It is the best feeling knowing he is fit and healthy.
“He’s a nice wee Christmas present for us.
“I feel really good and I’m so pleased and happy.
“I’m very proud of Kathy.
“Everything went well, he’s fit and healthy and she’s well rested.”
Kathryn and Aaron didn’t find out in advance if they were having a boy or a girl, because they wanted to keep it as a surprise, but Kathryn said she “had her suspicions” she was carrying another boy.
The Quinns are feeling on top of the world and have been inundated with kind messages of love and support following their new son’s arrival in the world.
Kathryn said: “We have had so many texts and calls.
“My brothers in Australia and Canada have been sending messages,” Aaron added.
“Everyone has been great.”
When the Belfast Telegraph visited the Quinn family at the Ulster Hospital yesterday, they were preparing to go home.
Kathryn said: “The staff have been great.
“Everyone was really helpful.”
