Ashleigh Shivers is the third generation of her family to marry at St Mary's Parish Church on the Crumlin Road, Belfast.
Ashleigh (24), from Rathcoole, Newtownabbey, and her husband Stephen Mullholland (24) fell in love 10 years ago while at Belfast Royal Academy. "It was over the summer between third and fourth year," she said.
The couple became engaged on Christmas Eve 2012.
"Stephen told me we were going to go for a walk at Ballysillan Park," Ashleigh said.
"We never go there, so I knew it was happening.
"He proposed and I said 'yes'."
Ashleigh and Paul were married on August 21 at St Mary's , the same place as her parents and grandparents.
Ashleigh's mum and dad Laurie and George Shivers were married there on August 6, 1988, and her grandparents Mary and Robert Henry were married there on February 2, 1952. "That was the most amazing thing," Ashleigh said.
"It was very emotional for us.
"We had a fantastic day, including lots of surprises like a lucky chimney sweep at the church and fire dancers at our reception at Belfast Castle."
Honeymoon plans are on hold as Ashleigh is expecting the couple's second child, a little brother or sister for 15-month-old Jacob.
Married life is going well.
"We are getting back to normality after an eventful few weeks," the new Mrs Mulholland said.
"Our friends and family made our day so special."
