Just married: Danielle and Gary Flynn
Little 'slip-up' during romantic proposal, but big day went off without a hitch
Danielle and Gary Flynn from Londonderry are enjoying married life following their perfect wedding day. Special needs teacher Danielle (33) from Ardgrange and Gary (32), a health and safety manager originally from Abbeylara in Co Longford, met in November 2012 at a nightclub in Letterkenny.
They fell in love and became engaged on April 5, 2013.
"We were in Chester and Gary took me to the Grosvenor Hotel," Danielle said.
"I wasn't expecting it at all.
"He got down on one knee - I thought he had fallen off his chair and tried to help him back up. He took a beautiful diamond engagement ring out of his pocket, proposed to me and I said 'yes'."
The couple were married at the Longtower Church in Derry.
"The service was brilliant," Danielle said.
"My priest Father Chris Ferguson and Gary's priest from Abbeylara, Father Michael, officiated.
"We were not nervous at all.
"I loved every minute of it."
A reception followed at the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.
The couple's first dance was a medley of songs starting with A Thousands Years by Christina Perri, then a Jennifer Lopez track and also music from the film An Officer and a Gentleman.
"Lough Erne was amazing," Danielle said.
"From the minute we arrived there the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect.
"The staff did everything for us and made us feel very welcome.
"The surroundings were so beautiful.
"We have to say thanks to our friends and family for helping make our big day so very special."
After the wedding the Flynns headed to Gary's home town of Abbeylara for the night and then to Cancun in Mexico on honeymoon.
"It was amazing," Danielle said. "It was the best holiday. Married life is very good.
"We are blissfully happy."
