Mark and Lyinzi Geoghegan fell in love as teenagers growing up in Co Armagh. Mark (27), an exhaust fitter, and Lyinzi (26) a finance assistant, from Craigavon, met nearly a decade ago in 2004 when they were "out and about" in Lurgan.
"We aren't the same sort of people all the time, but we agree on the important things and we've always got on really well," Lyinzi said.
The young couple got engaged on January 1, 2012 after spending New Year's Eve at Galgorm Manor in Ballymena.
They married on April 29 on the sun-drenched island of Cyprus, birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, and then had a big party on May 11 at Brownlow House in Lurgan for their family and friends. "Cyprus was lovely," Lyinzi said.
"We were staying just outside Ayia Napa and the weather was beautiful. Eight of us went out; it was so relaxing, it was the perfect day. The evening party when we got home was brilliant, too.It was lovely to see everyone."
The newlyweds' first dance as husband and wife was to Edwin McCain's song I'll Be.
The Geoghegans had lived together prior to getting married, so day to day life hasn't changed much, but they are enjoying this exciting new chapter in their lives together.
"Everything is good," Lyinzi said. "We've lived together for six years so haven't noticed much of a difference, but it's so nice to be married.
"We will be together 10 years next year, so we know each other so well, it's great."
The new Mr and Mrs Geoghegan would like to thank their friends and family for making their wedding celebrations the best days of their lives. "Everyone was lovely," Lyinzi said.
"A big thanks for my mummy and daddy and my sister for all their help."
