A question of money: Payment protection insurance

Question: I've spent months arguing with my bank but I can't get anywhere. I believe it mis-sold me a Payment Protection Insurance policy on a bank loan. What do I do?

Answer: Which? magazine is campaigning against PPI policies. It provides detailed advice on its website telling consumers how to claim their money back — for more details, see www.which.co.uk/campaigns/payment-protection-insurance/index.jsp. You can also lodge a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service: www.fos.org.uk or by phoning 0300 123 9 123.
