Sizzle your tastebuds with brilliant barbecue ideas from Belfast’s Hillmount Garden Centre.

What you'll need

1.5kg whole chicken

Olive Oil

1 small can beer/lager

Thumb of ginger

Knob of butter

1 chilli

10g fresh thyme

1tsp paprika

Salt and pepper

SERVES 4

Mix thyme, paprika, chilli and olive oil with softened butter. Slide fingers under skin at the neck end and cover breasts with mixture. Open a small beer can or cider can and slide chicken over the can.

Barbecue for one-and-a-quarter to one-and-a-half hours until the juices run clear. Carefully remove chicken and let rest for 10 minutes.
