A Michelin-starred restaurateur is to open up in Northern Ireland.

Kevin Thornton will unveil Menu at the Fitzwilliam Hotel on Belfast’s Great Victoria Street next week.

Mr Thornton said: “Belfast is an exciting and vibrant city and I’m looking forward to being part of it.

“Opening a casual dining restaurant is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m very happy to be working with Hotel Partners, who will be managing the hotel.”

The 130-seater venture will be led by head chef Patrick Leonard, formerly of Claridgedon and manager Harry Gribben, who trained at former Michelin-starred restaurant Shanks in Bangor and was head waiter at Deane’s in Belfast.
