Marriage split has made me hate girls
Northern Ireland's number one agony aunt Fiona Hurley answers your problems
Dear Fiona, I got divorced a year ago and I don’t think I’ll ever have another relationship.
I hate women and want to lash out if my ex comes anywhere near me but I manage to stop myself from being abusive.
She has ruined my life, I hate everything about her, and I don’t think I’ll ever feel differently towards women but I also know that I don’t want to be on my own forever either.
Can things change?
Dear Worried Man,
Divorce is painful and leaves an extremely bitter taste in your mouth but you can’t allow it to destroy you and make you misogynistic.
Don’t allow one relationship to affect you so adversely.
Although things are difficult now, you must hold on to hope for the future.
If you really want to, you’ll find love and be able to trust another woman because not everyone’s out to hurt you.
However, right now it’s important to deal with this by seeking counselling or psychotherapy and commit to spending this time healing yourself.
