Why do I never get asked out on dates?

Fiona Caine is here to help if you have a relationship, sexual, marriage or family problem

I don’t know what’s the matter with me — I meet lots of people at clubs, bars, discos and through friends but nothing ever comes of it.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve given guys my phone number, but they never call me.

I keep being told I’m attractive, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference as no one ever calls me for a date.

I’m 22 now and I don’t think I can cope with too many more let-downs. VT

FIONA SAYS: TAKE THE INITIATIVE AND GET THEIR NUMBERS INSTEAD

Rather than hand out your number indiscriminately to every man you meet, try being a little more selective. Once you’ve identified someone you’d like to know better, why don’t you ask for his number? If he shows no interest when you call him, you’ll at least know where you stand. If that still doesn’t work, ask a friend if there is something you’re not aware of that could be putting them off — body odour for example!
