Bertie Ahern's autobiography left on the shelves

Bertie Ahern's autobiography has flopped in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK — with a meagre 2,000 copies sold.
The former Taoiseach's tale of how he helped bring peace and prosperity to Ulster has not captured the imagination as much as his publishers would have hoped.
The book has fared better in the Republic with over 15,000 copies sold, but the figures are well short of the reputed print run of 50,000 copies.
Almost 37,000 copies of the book may remain unsold.
According to figures released by Nielsen, the autobiography has sold 2,054 copies in the UK and 15,486 copies in the Republic.
John McNamee, president of the European Booksellers Federation called sales of the book “a big disappointment”.
