If you are a whiz in the kitchen, an undiscovered cookery genius or gastronomic goddess, Moy Park, Northern Ireland’s largest food processing company is challenging you to show off your culinary prowess by submitting your favourite chicken recipe on the official Moy Park website ILoveIrishChicken.com

Paul Burch, Moy Park Accounts Director Ireland explains: “We are encouraging the public to tell us their most loved recipe using Northern Ireland’s favourite meat – chicken – to be in with a chance of winning a fantastic weekend break for two in ‘MacNean House’, Cavan. We are asking the Northern Ireland public to show us their creativity and innovation to come up with new recipes using chicken. Whittling the entries down to five finalists will prove very difficult, as we have received nearly a thousand recipes so far, from the traditional to the unusual, including ‘coconut chicken curry parcels’, ‘pot roast chicken with sage and onion’ and ‘Hawaiian Chicken’! The competition closes on the 7th November so there is still plenty of time to log on and share your recipe secrets!”

“Continuing the gastronomic theme Moy Park has also launched the ‘In the Kitchen’ recipe section on the Moy Park ILoveIrishChicken.com website. With today’s busy lifestyles, people want tasty food that is quick to cook after a busy day at work or when the kids get home from school. These recipes include a range of heart warming dishes, ideal for a healthy family dinner, light bite at lunch or a simple snack” Paul concluded.

To enter the ‘My Moy Park Recipe’ competition, simply visit the website www.iloveirishchicken.com and share your very best Irish chicken recipe. Five finalists recipes will be put to the public vote, with the winner receiving the grand prize of two nights bed and breakfast for two with dinner at Neven Maguire’s award-winning ‘MacNean House’ nestled in the foothills of the Cuilcagh Mountains, Blacklion, County Cavan – complete with €200 spending money. Four runners up will win an overnight stay for two at ‘MacNean House’ with dinner and €100 spending money.

World must open its eyes and see Israel for what it is

Why pick on Israel when there's so much injustice in the rest of the world? The answer is to be found in the specific circumstances which gave rise to the launch of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) campaign in July 2005.

PR machine is driving Sinn Fein power push

Sinn Fein's ard fheis opens in Killarney tomorrow. Like most conferences held by successful political parties, it is a well-managed set-piece. It is a PR event and it is aimed at the voters watching on TV.
