Girls Aloud pop star Nadine Coyle has revealed how she found a lump in her breast when she was 17.

Nadine, from Londonderry, said: “It did go through my mind it might be cancer...

“Then the results came back clear and everything was fine and as I started to feel better about my health generally it just kind of disappeared and I haven’t had any trouble since,” she said.

Nadine tells her story in the band’s new book Dreams That Glitter, serialised in OK! |magazine.

In addition Cheryl Cole reveals that she plans a big family — and wants to make a start soon.

Cole was keen to start a family weeks before allegations about her footballer husband Ashley’s infidelity hit the news, OK! magazine reported.

But after weighing up her hectic schedule decided to put the plans on hold.

But she said: “Family is becoming a priority. I started to think more about having children when I met Ashley.

“These days there’s no reason why you can’t have a family and a career.

“I’m from a big family and I want a big family and that means I have to make a start soon — so watch this space.”

Bandmate Nicola Roberts also revealed that she has struggled with the colour of her skin.

She said: “I was so pale. I hated it and I hated people judging me.

“I’d put on the telly and there’d be someone saying something cruel, or I’d open a magazine and read it...

“Being so young and shy it felt terrible...

“You’ve got no idea the lengths I went to just to be brown

Girls Aloud are the best girl group around at the moment and any one that tries to deny that is a dodo!!!! xxx

World must open its eyes and see Israel for what it is

Why pick on Israel when there's so much injustice in the rest of the world? The answer is to be found in the specific circumstances which gave rise to the launch of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) campaign in July 2005.

PR machine is driving Sinn Fein power push

Sinn Fein's ard fheis opens in Killarney tomorrow. Like most conferences held by successful political parties, it is a well-managed set-piece. It is a PR event and it is aimed at the voters watching on TV.
