A teenager was charged yesterday with murdering a greengrocer who was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver.

Harry Holland (65) was left dying outside his Norfolk Drive home in west Belfast on Tuesday night.

A west Belfast 16-year-old brought before Belfast Youth Court amid heavy security yesterday made no response when charged.

He was led in wearing a tracksuit and handcuffs and Detective Chief Inspector Glenn Wright said he could connect him to the charges.

The teenager also faces six separate charges involving attempted wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife, and making threats to kill against Brendan Rice and Louise Gilmore on September 8.

He was remanded in custody to reappear via video link on October 10.
