This student has some pretty powerful things to say about race at Cambridge University
Courtney Daniella has had enough of people doubting her.
Unfortunately, Britain’s top universities aren’t exactly known for their diversity. Last year, only 50 black applicants were offered places at Cambridge University, compared with 2,130 white students.
Courtney Daniella is a student at Cambridge, and she’s taken to Twitter to make some pretty powerful remarks about being a black woman at the prestigious university.
First, she addresses the fact that so many people think that she was only accepted to the university because of a “quota” helping her.
Do you know how many times I get comments on YT and even @'d about how 'lucky' I must feel to got to @Cambridge_Uni and how the 'quota'...— Courtney Daniella (@_CDaniella) July 29, 2017

...A young white male who expressed his fear of not getting a place at Cambridge because 'his place' would be occupied by 'people like me'.— Courtney Daniella (@_CDaniella) July 29, 2017
Understandably pretty offensive, as she is evidently an incredibly impressive student.

Daniella then shared another galling story.

Do you think I write 'fam', 'rah', and 'peng' in these 2000 word essays that I write every three days and then just get tossed a 2:1 pic.twitter.com/LJdrwsxfn6— Courtney Daniella (@_CDaniella) July 29, 2017
And then she completely shuts down all the haters.
So if me with my intelligent, highly favoured, melanated, confident and well spoken self being at Cambridge makes you uncomfortable...— Courtney Daniella (@_CDaniella) July 29, 2017
You need to fix your problem. 'Coz more of us are going to be rolling up and getting those degrees, MPhils and PhD's. Don't be bitter. pic.twitter.com/Y6dC9glrUF— Courtney Daniella (@_CDaniella) July 29, 2017
