Belfast City Airport pilot forced to brush off ice

Facilities at George Best Belfast City Airport have been described as a “shambles” after a pilot was forced to use a broom to clear ice from a plane

Passengers on board last night’s 9pm British Midland flight to London were delayed for more than an hour because a shortage of de-icing fluid meant the pilot, his first officer and a number of ground staff had to climb on to the aircraft’s wings to remove snow as air travellers looked on in disbelief.
