Breast Cancer Awareness Month Exclusive Video Package

By Gary Grattan
Friday, 1 October 2010

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Northern Ireland, Belfast Telegraph TV has put together a special package of video interviews to highlight the immense courage of local women living with cancer and how they are positively confronting that threat head-on, but also to show the way the wider community is rallying behind them.

INTERVIEW WITH NOLEEN ADAIR - FOUNDER OF PRETTY 'N' PINK CHARITY:

Noleen Adair set up the Pretty 'n' Pink charity four years ago - and, at the last count, it has raised over £100,000 to help breast cancer sufferers and their families in Northern Ireland. Noleen has been diagnosed with cancer FOUR times. Is it any wonder the word 'inspiration' is always on the lips of any person who knows her when they come to describe her. West Coast Cooler Belfast Fashionweek - which runs from October 13-17 - has made Pretty 'n' Pink its designated charity for its shows this month. This video also features interviews with top models Katie Larmour and Caroline Davis.

INTERVIEW WITH CIARA PRIESTLY:

INTERVIEW WITH CANCER PATIENT GERI SCOTT AND HER HUSBAND JOHNNY:

In this frank interview Geri Scott talks about how a young woman has to cope with the shock of learning she has breast cancer - but also, more positively, how the Pretty 'n' Pink charity has helped make her feel like a 'proper' woman again. Her husband Johnny opens his heart about what it's like to be a husband and father whose wife is diagnosed with cancer.

INTERVIEW WITH LUCY EVANGELISTA AND KATRINA DORAN:

Katrina Doran, editor of the popular social website sugahfix.com, tells why she's chosen Pretty 'n' Pink (along with Action Cancer) to benefit from the MasquerAID Ball at the Ivory (third floor, House of Fraser, Victoria Square) on October 30. And also about why she, along with former Miss Northern Ireland Lucy Evangelista (Voodoo International Modelling School), is organising a special competition to offer three breast cancer sufferers or their family members the opportunity for a special pampering treat.

INTERVIEW WITH ALECIA KARR, THE UK'S TOP 'PINK' TRIBUTE ACT:

It probably couldn't be more appropriate to have the leading 'Pink' tribute artist in the UK play a benefit show for Pretty 'n' Pink! Alecia Karr talks about why she's doing a fundraising concert for the local charity at the Empire Music Hall on October 30.
