Making the difference 2012: Service with a smile

It is going that extra mile for customers that led to Eimir Lynch (below) being nominated for service with a smile.

The Belfast hairdresser does not see the people who come into her Streaks Ahead salon on the Ormeau Road as clients, but as extended family.

“She is a real people person who cares for her loyal clientele,” her nominator said.

Having worked in the salon for 27 years alongside her brother Eamon, the mother of four shows particular care for her OAP customers.

“Women return not just for the feel good factor, but because of Eimir herself,” the nomination said. “Going that extra mile is what Eimir believes in. Helping customers out with domestic chores is nothing new to Eimir — although she has a husband and four children of her own to look after — and many a cake has been baked to say thank you,” her nomination said.

Eimir said giving this friendly attention to all her customers is important.
