Making the Difference: Best Garden
The winners of the first Belfast Telegraph Making the Difference Awards, in association with Spar, will be announced on March 9, 2011.
Hundreds of nominations from across Northern Ireland were submitted to 11 categories to find the individuals, projects and businesses that make a positive impact to the daily lives of people. The successful shortlist of inspirational nominees will be invited to be part of the audience at a glittering gala event in the Grand Opera House, Belfast, where the winners will be revealed.
Best Garden Sponsor Westland Horticulture
Mary Campbell, territory sales manager for Westland Horticulture, explained why the company supported the awards:
Sponsoring the ‘Best Garden’ was a natural for Westland
As a locally based company it is great for Westland Horticulture to become involved with events that support and highlight the achievements of those living in the local community.
“Businesses play a huge part within the local community providing valuable employment. With a workforce locally of over 220 people, Westland is one of the largest contributors to the area.
“Sponsoring the ‘Best Garden’ category at the awards was a natural thing for Westland Horticulture. We provide a wide range of products to the gardening industry to enable consumers to create wonderful and healthy looking gardens, of which there are many within the Belfast region.”
