Minister receives parking fees petition
Friday, 3 June 2011
The Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has said he will listen to all views on plans to introduce on-street car parking charges and hopes to make an announcement in July.
Mr Kennedy was in Cookstown earlier this week to accept a petition rejecting the controversial scheme for new charges.
Before the Assembly election, Mr Kennedy has said it would be "entirely sensible" to prevent the proposals earmarked for 30 towns.
"I am urgently reviewing the policy of introducing new car parking charges for towns and villages throughout Northern Ireland," Mr Kennedy said.
