Legal action over a £2.5m Government contract to provide advice on debt has been withdrawn in the High Court in Belfast.
The NI Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux Ltd dropped its application for an injunction against the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment on the understanding that it can contribute to a good governance review.
It followed CAB's failure to land the contract which was awarded to umbrella group Advice NI.
Deric Alcorn, CAB's chief executive, said afterwards: “We are encouraged by the department's undertaking to conduct a good governance review which it is now proposing to initiate.
“We have raised a number of substantive issues in the course of the legal challenge and we will be discussing these further with other Government departments.”
