Education Minister John O'Dowd's praise for two schools in Magherafelt

Education Minister John O'Dowd has praised the "quality education" provided by two schools in Magherafelt during recent visits.

The minister toured Toomebridge's Anahorish Primary School before visiting Kilronan School.

"Anahorish Primary School has served the community in Toomebridge for 60 years," he said. "Generations of children have passed through its doors and received quality education. Indeed, they continue to do so, with the school receiving a 'Very Good' rating in its last inspection. Kilronan caters for almost 100 children and young people with a range of special educational needs and was given an 'Outstanding' rating in inspection," he added.

"This high rating is no surprise to me having had the privilege to see the school and its staff in operation."
