A west Belfast festival event promises a wide-ranging discussion on education policies, schooling alternatives and life-long learning.
The 2013 Frank Cahill Memorial Lecture is part of the Feile an Phobail festival.
This year’s debate aims to examine the true meaning of education and how schooling in society can be improved.
The panel includes former MP Bernadette McAliskey, retired school principal Michelle Marken and Sinn Fein MLA Chris Hazzard, who sits on the Committee for Education. They will be joined by Eilish Rooney - an academic in the Transitional Justice Institute at University of Ulster.
It will be chaired by the director of the Ultach Trust - Aodan MacPoilin. Mr MacPoilin has written extensively on language and culture.
The event takes place Monday 5 August in St Mary’s University College, Falls Road, Belfast at 7.30pm.
