Learn to teach languages and earn £9k

A top English teacher training institution hopes to attract Northern Irish students to its PGCE programmes.

Canterbury Christ Church College became a university college 10 years ago and in 2005 was formally granted full university status and was renamed Canterbury Christ Church University.

It is the largest centre of higher education in the county for the public services — notably teacher training, nursing and policing.

The university is keen to hear from students interested in specialising in languages at both primary and secondary levell. Applicants will receive a bursary of between £4,000 and £9,000 — depending on subject.

Successful applicants for the Primary PGCE Course will receive a teacher training bursary of £4,000 and Secondary applicants will receive a bursary of between £6,000 and £9,000 depending on the subject.
