Queen's University Belfast is one of only six universities in the UK’s elite Russell Group to exceed their state school recruitment quotas.

The institutions, which include 14 of the 20 Russell Group universities, are not meeting centrally set “benchmarks” for recruiting state school teenagers, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency.
