Last call for garden nest boxes

Published 07/02/2014

A wildlife protection group is urging people to look after our feathered friends as the nesting season approaches.

The Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime in Northern Ireland is highlighting National Nest Box Week, which starts next Friday and marks the last opportunity to put up homes for birds. Garden birds need time to get used to a nest box before they set up home.

The group is also reminding the public that all wild birds, their nests and eggs are protected by law.

For advice contact Northern Ireland Evironment Agency's Wildlife Team on 028 9056 9551.
