Pouring cold water on global warming
Global cooling has arrived. Global warming is dead.
Wednesday, 13 May 2009
There is now irrefutable scientific evidence that far from global warming the earth has now entered a period of global cooling which will last at least for the next two decades.
Evidence for this comes from the NASA Microwave Sounding Unit and the Hadley Climate Research Unit while evidence that CO2 levels are continuing to increase comes from the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii.
Professor Don Easterbrook one of the principle speakers at the recent World Conference on climate change held in New York in March this year attended by 800 leading climatologists, has documented a consistent cycle of warm and cool periods each with a 27 year cycle. Indeed the warm period from 1976 to 1998 exactly fits the pattern of climate changes for the past several centuries long before there were any CO2 emissions. Greenland Ice core temperature measurements for the past 500 years show this 27 year cycle of alternating warm and cool periods. Recently the global temperature increased from 1918 to 1940, decreased from 1940 to 1976, increased again from 1976 to 1998 and has been decreasing ever since.
However throughout this time CO2 has been added to the atmosphere in increasing amounts. This point was brought out by at the New York conference by Vaclav Klaus the rotating President of the EU and President of the Czech Republic. If CO2 emissions cause temperature rises than why is it that every 27 years the earth climate switches to a cooling mode with decreasing temperature? Clearly there is another explanation that does not include humans. .
Nearly ten years into the 21 century it is clear that the UN IPCC computer models have gone badly astray. The IPCC models have predicted a one degree increase in global temperature by 2011 with further large temperature rises to 2100. Yet there has been no warming since 1998 with a one degree cooling this year being the largest global temperature change ever recorded. Nasa satellite imagery from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California has confirmed that the Pacific Ocean has switched from the warm mode it has been in since 1977 to its cool mode, similar to that of the 1945-1977 global cooling period.
The evidence that the earth is in a cooling mode rather than a warming mode is there for all to see. the RSS(Remote Sensing System) in Santa Rosa California has recorded a temperature fall of two to three degrees in the Arctic since 2005, while US Army buoys show an increase in Arctic ice thickness to 3.5 metres. North America has had two of its worst winters for sixty years with the temperature in Yellowstone Park falling to a staggering minus 60 degrees.
About 46” of snow fell in New York in two weeks! Last February Toronto had over 70 cms of snow, more than anything since 1950! Snow has fallen in parts of China and Asia for the first time in living memory while Britain had its worst January for twenty years. Alps have best snow conditions in a generation ran a newspaper headline last December. Strange indeed that the BBC , who likes us to believe it is impartial does not mention these freezing temperatures and Arctic conditions.
Some warming in the Antarctic has only been on a small 20 mile strip of the Antarctic Peninsula as a result of the 1977- 1998 warming period. This is insignificant compared to the overall size of the huge Antarctic continent.
Studies by the WeatherAction team(weatheraction.com) led by astrophysicist Piers Corbyn and also the measurements of sun spots by the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial physics in Irkutsk in Russia show that over the last 50 years solar activity has been at its highest for the past several thousand years.
The Russian physicists have analysed sun spot activity from 1882 to 2000 and have noted that the minimum of the cycle of solar activity will occur around 2021 to 2026 and that we will be facing not global warming but global cooling leading to a deep freeze around 2050.
The UN IPCC graphics have left out the medieval warming period (950-1300AD) and the Little Ice Age (1350- 1850). This alters the picture entirely
and does not then portray the alternating warm cool warm cool cycle of recorded world temperatures. Also statements put out by the UN IPCC are unrepresentative of many of its members. I do not recall any votes being taken of the opinion of members.
At the New York climate change conference in March as well as Vaclav Klaus delegates also heard Dr Richard Linzen from MIT probably the leading climatologist in the world today, as well as Professor Syun-Ichi Akasofu, former director of the International Arctic Research Center, Dr Willie Soon of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for astrophysics and Professor Paul Reiter of the Pasteur Institute who all demolished the global alarmists case piece by piece.
In his speech the EU President Vaclav Klaus had these controversial words for the environmentalist lobby.
“Environmentalists-even mainstream environmentalists are less concerned about any crisis posed by global warming than they are eager to command human behaviour and restrict economic activity” He also said “their true plans and ambitions: to stop economic development and return mankind centuries back.
They are interested in their businesses and their profits made with the help of politicians”
He got a standing ovation from the assembled audience.
His assertion about the involvement of politicians is not surprising. This whole movement is in many parts a political movement with nearly all the recognised climatologists throughout the world dissenting from the man made global warming theory.
This can be seen on the US Senate Environment committee web site with over 700 leading climatologists from 24 different countries including Nobel Prize laureates all dissenting from the man made global warming theory. It has been well reported that at least one of the architects of Koyoto has strong links with the New Age Movement which is not a movement that would promote economic growth.
We have all recently noticed the escalating price of food. The reason for this is because American grain, the breadbasket of the world, is increasingly being turned into ethanol which has led to a three fold increase of maize prices worldwide. This has the potential to cause worldwide starvation!

\so if we don't all die from heat exhaustion we will all freeze to death then!
But I expect by the time comes we will welcome it because by then we will all be taxed to death anyway.

Obviously there is something fishy with these latest data from surface sea temperature, as Dr. Roy Spencer has expressed. The Copenhagen conference is near and politicians havent decided if they will reach any agreement regarding the new replacement for the Kyoto treaty. So it is clear that orders came from above to set the misinforming machine full steam ahead and then the massaging team has begun their practice on all kind of data. The cooling trend was steady and uniform so this heat spike in sea surface temperatures is clearly doctored data. If polar waters had warmed so much, Arctic ice wouldnt be melting at such a slow pace, with greater ice extension than last year, equaling 2005 levels. Everything is related to the astonishing low activity in our Sun, more than 79% of 2008 without sunspots and about 80% of 2009 also with no sunspots at all. We are headed towards a new Maunder Minimum. Too bad for the younger generations. The warming scam is short lived.

Hey Terri, what happens when that "irrefutable evidence" disagrees with reality?
The average water temperature worldwide was 62.6 degrees, according to the National Climatic Data Center, the branch of the U.S. government that keeps world weather records. That was 1.1 degree higher than the 20th century average, and beat the previous high set in 1998 by a couple hundredths of a degree.
The heat is most noticeable near the Arctic, where water temperatures are as much as 10 degrees above average.
Breaking heat records in water is more ominous as a sign of global warming than breaking temperature marks on land, because water takes longer to heat up and does not cool off as easily as land.

To Jerry Hribar. you mention about the US senate report of the Environment and Public works committee. Go to this site and put in the search box on the web site"Dissent from global Warming"
and you will get the list of around 700 leading scientists who all dissent from the global warming hoax.
I notice that this week the Australian Senate have defeated the Cap and Trade proposed legislation of the Rudd government. A tremendous victory for all of us who are trying to expose this fraud. see also the huge catalogue of books on the fraud on the Amazon.com web site.

Another big lie, another "global crisis" promulgated by people who want world government i.e. want to rule the world:
"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill...All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself." - Club of Rome

where on the US Senate Environment committee web site is the list of 700 leading climatologists?

The growth of this undocumented consensus reflects willingness of some people to believe it truly exists, for it's doubtful for that many scientists to actually be named to substantiate the claimed numbers in Warmers' mythical consensus. If, say, the American Physical Society issues a statement supporting AGW science, Warmers feel free to also count their 40,000 members for supporting AGW science. This is not legitimate. It is consensus by proxy. Said often, Warmers now believe the lie.

Global warming (or climate change to those for whom it matters) seems to depend on the strength of some consensus. Is it because the hypothesis cannot be disproved?
Why is it the desenters provide names of their deniers (which also gives an accurate count), but the Warmers make only vague references to their consensus? In the beginning we heard of "2,500" scientists in the AGW consensus. These mythical scientists have become legend. Now their numbers are in the millions.

The political decisons underway will be a heavy burden for citizens in political correct countries. Lots of industry is forced to close down, while the Chinese can carry on. They are selling their CO2 quotas for fortunes, while their emssion continues.
Our politicians are slowly closing down life. All based upon climate lies. They are denying life.

The Stern report & the Garnaut report have been extensively reviewed & criticised by scientific & economic experts. I am neither, but my reading of such left me convinced that the whole GW mania is strategic to engineering an economic-climate change, not the economics OF climate change.
I dont have a problem with the engineering of a global economic-climate change to replace the false economic system now collapsed.
However, it does concern me & the politics of fear should concern everyone because fear begets fear, begets fear until political & scientific madmen do mad things.

RE Scaring people witless- By golly Jock I like the argument! I agree wholeheartedly that GW must NOT be a stick for people to beat/tax us with! Sadly, we part ideological company over GW but ignore that argument, a more imminent problem is the nonrenewable technology that fuels us. We cannot rely totally on natural resources such as wind, but to use these in tandem with fossil fuel (ie CO2) technology is surely a step in the right direction on both arguments -Lower CO2 & Costs extend reserves

Hi Jock, I've been reviewing your ref. "Heaven & Earth". Sadly many lists of inaccuracies exist for this book EG: http://scienceblogs.com/deltoid/2009/04/the_science_is_missing_from_ia.php (Lists over 55 inaccurate/misleading refs). I hate using this informal resource but have no choice as books are NOT always formally peer reviewed (as in this case), the author is not a climatologist but a geologist, & that selling books may need a little controversy to make profit. So PLEASE beware your source

Most interesting how the subconscious tennant in your noggin dished you up the scarcastic remark "climate change for preschool kids"
As parents & grandparents know, tiny tots learning about numbers love speaking big figuires like 'fifty billion trillion."
The IPCC's true believers are ditto when it comes to the so-called millions of scientists who supposedly back the IPCC claims.

Cait,
Though I addressed my last post to ATM it was for your benifit too.
As for empty rhetoric: To Gore/IPCC drum beaters like yourself & ATM, scientifically qualified, global warming scepticism such as Terri Jacksons, is "empty rhetoric"
Acquire & read Ian Plimer's 'Heaven & Earth: Global Warming the Missing Science" It was written as theraphy for people "scared (so) witless" by the IPCC they took to beating its drum.

ATM,
I am disappointed, truly & sadly disappointed that by my wilful insertion of the words both psychically & politically in my last post, I gave you spelling & grammatical nits to pick & you failed the test.
However, no cause for shame on your part old heckler because I am also semi-literate, though perhaps an older & more experienced heckler than yourself.
Switch to my side old buddy because its more fun heckling the Gores et al who psychologically harass those incapable of striking back. Scaring people witless is Professor Plimers term for psychological harassment.

No one knows how many scientists believe that mankind is causing harmful global warming. A couple of years ago we heard about the consensus of "2,500", but they have never been identified. They were really "mythical" in this sense. Were there really 2,500? Over time this mythical count became legend, growing by leaps and bounds. No one bothers to assert a count any more. Instead, we frequently hear that nearly every scientist in the world supports the AGW malarkey. Yeah, right.

Jock. Please look up the phrase "empty rhetoric". Thanks.
(also maybe 'primary research' while you're at it...I know I'm harping on about it - but it is pretty fundamental to the arguments). (BTW 500 characters/words - don't nit pick)

ATM,
Your posts are an open invitation to comments about your ignorance. Indeed the democratic ration on this site is 500 characters, not 500 words as you wrongly alleged.
The ignorance you expressed re the cause of bush fires in Australia was clearly gleaned from the self-defensive propaganda of enviro-religious fanatics who both psychically & politically, protest against professionally managed back burning of forest floor undergrowth during the winter months.
Read Prof. Ian Plimers book Heaven & Earth it dissolves the ignorance fostered by the IPCC.

Just one other thing Jock, you quoted an Australian climatologist Blair Trewin (really have tried to find him online but to no avail!): In all cases youd have to go back to the 1940s & 50s to find longer runs of COLD days in April.
Er is that why they have all that drought and the associated bush fires last Febuary?
Continuing to look forward to your comments: Keep up the good work!

Well done Jock! Finally you have given a proper argument without resorting (too much) to silly personal abuse, even though you didn't answer my question Im really proud of you! Perhaps in your next post you can do without the unnecessary bad language?
Please post the URL of the ANCC material you referred to! The Bureau of Meteorology www.bom.gov.au/climate/change/ states in its first line Australia and the globe are experiencing rapid climate change not really in tune with your arguements
