Parade of images sees internet have fun with Theresa May
The Prime Minister yesterday faced a storm of criticism over her decision to ally the Conservative Party with the DUP.
Social media channels were flooded with faked images depicting Theresa May variously as an Orangewoman, a flute band musician, and surrounded on the green Westminster benches by hooded loyalists in combat fatigues.
A picture of the road outside No 10 Downing Street was mocked up to resemble the Shankill Road on the Twelfth of July with red, white and blue kerbstones, and Ulster and Union flags hanging outside.
An image of a copper on guard at the entrance to Number 10 was doctored to give him a traditional Orange collarette.
It's likely there will be much more of such ironic mock-ups in the months ahead.
