Rise in vomiting bug at hospital

Published 19/10/2012

There has been an increase in vomiting and diarrhoea among patients at Belfast City Hospital, the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust has warned.

Brenda Creaney, Director of Nursing and User Experience said: “Please do not visit the hospital if you have had vomiting and diarrhoea. Please be diligent in your hand washing when entering and leaving wards. Where possible, please do not bring children to the wards.”

Vomiting and diarrhoea, while infectious, normally passes in 48 hours.
