Too few eating five a day to combat cancer
Despite the continuing campaign to get us to eat our five a day of fruit and vegetables, only 22% of are consuming prescribed levels.
The figure various widely for poorer and richer homes, with only 17% of lower-income households eating the recommended daily five a day.
The finding, revealed at the start of Cancer Prevention Week, compared to 27% from homes enjoying bigger budgets, according to a survey by the World Cancer Research Fund,
The charity said in The Sun that eating five portions of fruit and vegetables every day was the “building block of a healthy diet” and helped in the fight against several different types of cancer.
