Cancer specialists in Belfast will open up the doors to the laboratories of its world leading research centre for the first time to give the public a glimpse of their life-saving work.

The Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology (CCRCB) at Queen's University will host its first open day on Saturday.

Over the past five years teams at QUB have been driving research into innovative discoveries to improve cancer treatment around the world.

Research can be viewed as complicated and difficult to understand, but QUB wants to de-mystify its work by giving people the chance to ask questions. A range of senior scientists and nurses will show what goes on in the labs and take part in interactive activities which explain the centre's vital work.
