Irish bookies court Tiger Woods as wife moves back home
Bookmaker PaddyPower.com has entered discussions concerning a sponsorship deal with Tiger Woods.
The golf star is four titles short of matching Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 majors, but has not played this year and recently apologised for the sex scandals which has turned his life upside down.
The company's proposal would see an initial $5million (£3.33m) paid for the use of Woods' likeness annually while incentives of $1m (£665,000)for winning a US major and $2m (£1.31m) for winning The Open would be offered.
Power himself admitted: “We're in negotiations with IMG to sponsor Tiger Woods. It's still in the early stage of the negotiations, really.
It's going to be, if it all comes off, the biggest kind of sponsorship deal we have ever done. Meanwhile, Woods' wife Elin Nordegren has reportedly agreed to move back in with the shamed superstar. Ms Nordegren had been renting a house about a mile from the Florida home they previously shared.
On Wednesday the couple “spent approximately three hours together at the house where they will once again live together”, RadarOnline reported on their website. The site reported that Woods kissed Elin on the cheek and that they hugged — another sign that the couple may be on the path to reconciling after nearly five months of torment.
The couple has seemingly come from Thanksgiving weekend, when Nordegren discovered Woods was having an affair with Manhattan party planner Rachel Uchitel.
