Numbers game at the Maze

Letters to the editor should be sent to: 124-144 Royal Avenue, Belfast BT1 1EB. E-mail: writeback@belfasttelegraph.co.uk
I've read two letters in Write Back in recent days relating to the Maze stadium plan, one from Jeffrey Donaldson/Edwin Poots and the other signed by councillors Ronnie Crawford and Bill Gardner-Watson and alderman Jim Dillon.
While one could pose a million questions regarding this project, perhaps Belfast Telegraph will permit me just one, which through your letters page they might consider a reply.
Given the stadium is proposed to hold around 35,000, that would mean an away team is allocated 3,500 tickets for a World Cup qualifier.
Say, for example, it's Denmark and they take up their full allocation of tickets for a game.
Could one of the five politicians please explain to me where these 3,500 fans would most likely be accommodated, entertained and fed during their visit and how exactly they'd get to and from the stadium? Details gentlemen please: how many trains and carriages, how many buses, and include, if you will, your opinion if Translink could indeed provide the numbers of vehicles you estimate as needed, while servicing their other network commitments.
We'll ignore, for the purposes of this question, the additional transport needs of the 30,000 or more fans supporting the home team!
I T Greenisland
