Essential lesson from US on global warming
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
I am delighted to have someone from San Francisco educate me on Global
Warming (Write Back, May 8).
However, anyone who has taken the time recently to examine our Met Office
weather forecasts and compare them with actual weather experienced, will
come to the similar conclusion I have — that these forecasts are singularly
inaccurate (even compared with those of 10 years ago).
I need only to quote the Met Office themselves at an international meeting
earlier this year, where they stated that, to achieve reasonable forecasts,
they would need at least 1,000 times the computer power of their present
reading system.
To build a house you have got to have good bricks.
Similarly, to speculate on 'climate change' the so-called 'experts' require
effective basic data.
This they do not have!
