Tenants seek a better deal
Thursday, 15 May 2008
As a resident of Belfast's Greater St James area I have watched 'To Let' signs go up, talked to residents who have had to deal with problem tenants and contacted landlords who just don't seem to care.
We have to put up with a constant stream of new landlords, many not living within west Belfast, who don't care about the condition of the house or who the property is rented to as long as the profits are going into their pockets at the end of the month. It angers me that our community can be treated with such disrespect by companies and individuals.
Young people are being forced to move out of the area because there are no affordable houses for them. It is time something was done to stop this from happening.
We deserve better!
