Linfield withdraw controversial CD

Linfield Football Club has withdrawn a CD from sale after the lyrics of a song were deemed capable of inciting violence, it emerged last night.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, a spokesman for Linfield FC said the contentious CD had now been scrapped - but he also stressed that at no stage had it been sold covertly. The CD had been for sale in the club shop inside Windsor Park.
"The CD was being stored under the counter with match tickets and football shirts," he said.
"The inference that it was being sold covertly is incorrect."
The controversial football song - entitled Linfield's Roar - is about Linfield supporters attacking Glentoran fans.
The club claimed it took action after complaints were brought to its attention.
Some people blamed disturbances in Belfast city centre last weekend on Linfield supporters.
However, police have said that the match passed off peacefully and have not linked Saturday's disturbance to the club.
