A Co Tyrone man has been given a three-month prison sentence suspended for a year after more than 6,000 tons of mushrooms were found illegally dumped.
Patrick Sherry (59) of Legane Road, Aughnacloy, was prosecuted at Enniskillen Court for two waste offences, the Department of the Environment said in a statement.
The DoE said a survey of Craig’s Bog, Carnteel, found at least 6,496 tonnes of mushroom waste.
It was estimated that legal disposing would have cost £328,210.
