Residents in the quiet Ballymena community of Galgorm were today coming to
terms with the tragic death of father-of-three John Lawrence Woolf on
Tuesday.
The 39-year-old from Sourhill died after he was hit by a bus on the M2.
The accident brought traffic across the city to a complete standstill for
more than four hours. Police had to shut all country-bound lanes from
Fortwilliam as far as Greencastle to carry out their investigation.
The Woolf family are well known in the community.
Lawrence's father Rory started his heavy engineering business almost 40
years ago and has been an important figure in the industry.
Fellow local businessman Tom Grant, from Grant Electricals, described Mr
Woolf Snr as a "well-respected gentleman".
Mr Woolf is survived by his wife Lisa and three young daughters, Susannah,
Georgia, and Katie.
