Checking in... the five-star hotel that's coming to Belfast

This is how Belfast city centre's newest five-star hotel will look when it opens its doors in two years' time.
The luxury £20m Fitzwilliam Hotel is being sited in Great Victoria Street,
next to the Grand Opera House.
It is the latest in a string of
hotels being built in Belfast to meet demand from visitors to what the
Lonely Planet guide calls "a must-see city".
Fitzwilliam
spokeswoman June Burgess said the new hotel will have "first class
luxury with sophistication and style".
Stephen Boyd, Professor
of Tourism, feels friendly competition between the neighbouring hotels will
be good for the city of Belfast.
"I think that the growth of
tourism in Northern Ireland in the last 10 years and the appeal of Belfast
for short breaks, as well as three hotels being close to one another is good
competition," he said. "People want quality and with this hotel,
this is what people will receive."
The Fitzwilliam will have
more than 130 rooms and is due to open in early 2009, creating work for over
100 people.
