The London-based management of organisers WWE offered the family a complimentary ticket after the Belfast Telegraph highlighted their plight.

David and Sharon Sneddon from Lurgan bought four tickets for themselves and their two special needs children as a treat and were planning on taking their five-month-old daughter to the show when told by Box Office staff that they would have to buy another ticket for the baby.

Kyle Sneddon (11), who has autism, is a WWE fan and was looking forward to the evening.

The family claim they have never had to buy a ticket for an infant before at the complex.

"Toni-Anna is only five months old. To say she needs a seat is ridiculous," she said.

"Every time we have been to the Odyssey we have never had to buy a ticket for a baby. When I phoned to check, the woman said it was not their rule, it was the WWE."

An Odyssey spokesman said the ruling was set by the promoter. But a WWE spokesman said the organisation did not set any rules regarding the purchasing of tickets for infants.

"We are sorry for the confusion and are more than happy to offer the family a complimentary ticket. We hope they enjoy the show."

Speaking ahead of last night's match, Mrs Sneddon said she was pleased with the outcome.
