Repeat wins for Mutai and Jumma in Belfast marathon

Marathon winners: Ethopia's Marashet Jumma and Kenyan John Mutai

Kenyan John Mutai has finished first in the men's Belfast Marathon with a winning time of two hours, 16 minutes and 31 seconds.

The winner of the women's race - Ethopia's Marashet Jumma - broke the course record with a time of two hours, 39 minutes and 22 seconds.

Both Mutia and Jumma are repeat winners having both finished first in the race last year.

Almost 15,000 people, a combination of serious athletes and fun runners, took to the streets for the city's 27th marathon. The largest proportion of entrants were taking part in the relay, with around 1,800 teams lining up at 9am.

They were joined by around 2,000 walkers and 1,500 taking part in the associated Fun Run.
