Vroom at the top for Gemma Garrett
Thursday, 19 June 2008
Ulster beauty Queen Gemma Garrett was yesterday unveiled as the 'Female Face' of the forthcoming Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
The current Miss Great Britain, who is also hoping to pursue a career in politics, will add to the glamour of the big day on Sunday, July 6.
"So much has been happening since I was crowned Miss Great Britain and this latest development is very exciting, " said 26-year old Gemma.
"I'm really looking forward to cheering on the three British drivers. I've never been to the Grand Prix before so it should be an amazing experience."
Having stood, unsuccessfully it has to be said, for the 'Beauties for Britain' party in the Crewe and Nantwitch by-election, the busy Belfast girl now plans to oppose ex-Shadow Home Secretary David Davis in Haltemprice and Howden.
She will also be seen later this year on the big screen alongside action star Dolph Lundgren in a movie called Direct Contact, which will be released in the autumn.
