Charlotte a size 18 model success

Curvy Ulster model Charlotte Coyle is set to make her screen debut next month in a ground-breaking documentary.

The 23-year-old is home for a break in Londonderry today after searching the UK to find the next plus-size supermodel for her Channel 4 documentary Beauty Reborn.

After three months of filming, Charlotte — a size 18 — hosted the grand finale at London's Cafe de Paris in March. The show will finally be aired on August 10.

Charlotte auditioned over 300 size 16 or over girls in Manch- ester and London for the show, and is making plans to raise her own profile from her current po- sition as one of the world's most sought after plus-size models.

The statuesque blonde — al- most 6ft — described her film-making experience as "exhausting". "It has been really stressful but well worth it and I'm really ex- cited about the show coming out in August.

There have been a few delays but I'm hopeful that this is a definite date. " I think the subject makes great TV. My only concern is that I sound so ‘Derry’ in it!

There's nothing wrong with that but you just don't really know what a strong accent you have until you hear yourself on TV.

"This is the first documentary of its kind and it will help women all over the country to realise you can be over a size 16 and be beautiful, regardless of what so- ciety says, which is that the ideal is a size 6."
