Jade Goody is too ill for a visit from her former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Shilpa Shetty, her friend and publicist Max Clifford has said.

Jade learned of her cancer while starring on India’s version of Big Brother which Shetty hosted.

The pair first met on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 when Jade was plunged into a race row over the treatment of the Indian contestant.

The pair have since made their peace and Shetty was invited to Jade’s wedding, but was unable to attend due to filming commitments.

It had been hoped the 33-year-old Bollywood actress might be able to say farewell to her terminally ill friend during a visit to Britain this week.

But Mr Clifford said Shilpa would not be paying a visit to Jade as she was too sick.

He said: “She is not well. Shilpa totally understands that.”

The cancer-stricken star deteriorated over the weekend and her condition remained unchanged yesterday.

Jade’s family have been readying themselves for the end.

“She has put her house in order and faced up to everything in an incredibly brave way,” Mr Clifford said previously.

“Now we’re waiting for the inevitable — it could be at any time, we just don’t know.”

On Sunday, the former Big Brother contestant was visited at her home in Upshire, Essex, by her young sons, Bobby (5) and Freddy (4).

Although she was under heavy sedation and spent much of Saturday and Sunday sleeping, Jade smiled when she saw her children and was “briefly conscious” of their presence, according to Mr Clifford.

Jade’s mother Jackiey Budden and husband Jack Tweed were also at her bedside.

The family had been hoping for friends and loved ones to visit, but the 27-year-old was not well enough.

Jade has told her sons, who are staying with their father, TV presenter Jeff Brazier, she will soon be in heaven.

She spoke to them after coming home from hospital on Thursday, saying: “Mummy’s going to heaven soon. I’m going to be a star up in the sky so when you are looking up you will be able to see me and know I’m there, always looking over you.

“Mummy’s going to be up there looking over you. Close your eyes and you can talk to me.”

She has also made arrangements for her own funeral which she hopes to be a “celebration” of her life.

“She wants it to be a big celebration because it’s her final farewell to everybody,” Mr Clifford said.

“She’s the world’s first world reality television star. It will be a very Jade Goody event — exactly the way she wants it.” The funeral is expected to see a cortege of cars drive through the streets of Bermondsey, south London, where Goody grew up.

She will be buried in the churchyard of St John the Baptist in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

Tweed (21) was allowed to break his curfew to hurry to her side on Friday night after Jade was panicking and in pain.

He has to wear a tag after his release from prison for attacking a teenager with a golf club.

Under his bail conditions he must be at his mother Mary’s house between 7pm and 7am.

But officials have made special provisions so they can spend more time together.
